If you’re heading out to a festival, you want to make sure you’re prepared. There’s all sorts of stuff you might want to have with you: your tickets, phone, gum, sunscreen, sunglasses, ear plugs; the list goes on. But dragging around a big, heavy bag is a pain. You don’t want everything in your pockets, either, weighing you down while you’re dancing; that’s if your outfit even has pockets! So what do you do? You grab a fanny pack!
You don’t want just any fanny pack, though. You need something that is both durable enough to survive the tough environment of a festival and unique enough to show your personal style. And, while you definitely want it to look nice and be made well, you probably don’t want to spend a fortune on something that is more than likely going to be taking a lot of abuse. So, with all that in mind, let’s take a look at a few of the many options out there and find the right festival fanny pack for you.
First up, we have the DARE Fanny by Extreme ’80s. This one is sure to bring back some memories for some of you, and it just screams retro with its neon colors. It has two zip pockets and the old DARE logo printed on the front. It has an adjustable strap and is very reasonably priced at just $20.
iHeartRaves Space Galaxy
The iHeartRaves Space Galaxy fanny pack is one of the hotter items with a design that is out of this world. Printed on durable polyester, the vibrant colors and galaxy imagery is versatile enough to work with any outfit and is able to stand up to your interstellar dance moves until the mother ship arrives to take you home. Priced at $19.95 it’s a great value.
Bam Products Neon Fanny Pack
If you’re looking for something bright and colorful, but the DARE pack above is a little too retro for you, Bam Products has you covered. The company offers plain neon-colored fanny packs in yellow, green, orange, pink, and blue, as well as a simple black pack. These guys are sturdy and the straps are adjustable up to 42”, so no need to worry about fit. There are two pockets up front, small and large, and a hidden “secret” pocket around back as well. The plain, solid-colored design of the fanny pack gives you a blank canvas to decorate it however you choose, giving you a totally unique and personal accessory. These simple packs cost just $14.99. There are also neon packs with “PARTY” written across the front, available in yellow, green, pink, and orange. If that’s your thing, they’ll also cost you just $14.99.
ASOS Geo Tribal Fanny Pack
Next is the Geo-Tribal fanny pack from ASOS. This awesome little pack features a single large zippered pocket for stashing all your must-haves and a gorgeous pattern that brings to mind Native American or Aztec artwork. The back features an adjustable black strap with chrome buckle, and the whole package is a steal at just $31.
Cooperative Canvas Belt Bag
For a more vintage look, Cooperative’s Canvas Belt Bag is a great choice. This cotton fanny pack has two zippered pockets, giving you plenty of room to store and organize your gear. Available in your choice of plain black or two different vintage patterns. This one is $24 and is only available at Urban Outfitters.
RaverSwag Bandi Pack
For something even smaller and more portable, RaverSwag also sells BANDI packs, or “pocket belts.” These slick little guys are similar in idea to a fanny pack, but are softer, if that makes sense. Instead of having zippered pouches, they are just made of loose fabric that folds over itself to create a pocket and keep your items safely inside. There are several different patterns and designs to choose from on the site, including a couple of tie-dyed options, some paisley, and a solid fuchsia. These won’t hold as much as a true fanny pack, but have the advantage of being much slimmer and fitting to your body better; this helps keep them from flopping all over the place while you’re dancing. These are a bit more expensive, at $29.95, but if you just need to carry a couple items they may be worth looking at.
So there you have it. With this collection of excellent, rave-ready fanny packs, you should have no excuse for being unprepared at your next outing. Grab a fanny pack, grab your gear, and get dancing!
